Amiga

When the Amiga was first released in 1984, it was revolutionary – and that’s an understatement. No other computer on the market could match its forward-looking design. Sporting: a multi-tasking operating system (Kickstart & Workbench), Motorola 68000 CPU, co-processor chips for video, audio and disk I/O, the Amiga’s specs simply destroyed any competition. Unfortunately, the Amiga was owned by Commodore, who had no clue how to sell it, and rested too long on the Amiga’s early technical superiority. By the early-1990′s Commodore was on it’s last-legs as PC ownership exploded and software developers left the Amiga platform in droves. However, the Amiga still holds an iconic place in the hearts of many; as the computer that redefined what a computer could do, and be, and was the blueprint for the hardware that would power the PC Era.
